Membership

The Historic Jackson Ward Association (HJWA) neighborhood meetings are held on the third Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September, and November at 6:00 pm at the UNOS Building at the corner of 2nd and Clay Streets. Until further notice, however, all of our meetings will be held as virtual Zoom meetings. Details will be posted on the home page, the HJWA FB page, NextDoor and sent to membership via email prior to each meeting.

Membership dues for those who wish to join the Historic Jackson Ward Association are $15 per year for individuals and $25 for businesses.

 

You must be 18 years of age or older, reside in, lease or own property within the designated Jackson Ward boundaries of the City of Richmond, VA in order to join. Payment of Membership dues entitles the member to vote on all issues that come up for a vote  in our meetings and/or correspondences. Businesses, schools, trade groups or public, private or governmental organizations in the designated Jackson Ward area are eligible for membership and shall designate a sole representative to vote in all matters presented to the HJWA. Non-voting Associate Membership shall be open to the general public as a Friend of the Association at rates set forth above.

 

Membership dues are payable annually on January 1st of each calendar year or at the time a new member joins the Association. Anyone joining on or after November 1st of any year will be considered a member in good standing for the remainder of that year and until December of the following year.

 

Please note that although you may join at any time during the year –  membership is from January 1st to December 31st of each calendar year and dues are not pro-rated.

 

There is a $1 convenience fee for paying dues online, using Pay Pal. If you wish to avoid the convenience fee, dues may also be paid in person at HJWA meetings, by mail to our P.O. box, or by following the directions below to use Cash App.
