The 2nd Annual Community Harvest Festival was held on Wednesday, October 31st from 6 - 8 PM at the Siegel Center @ VCU. Delegate Jennifer McClellan invited all of the neighborhood children and their families to join her for a fun and safe place to Trick Or Treat on Halloween night, and the event was a huge success! There was face painting, crafts, Story Time by the Richmond Library and the READ Center, magicians, henna tatoos by Zarina & friends, Rosie the clown, Games, moon bounce, Richmond Kickers, the Richmond Fire department, VCU Police, and free refreshments including Papa John's pizza, soda, ice cream and candy for all. There were also free give-aways from the VCU Dental School to keep those young teeth strong and healthy. Special thanks to Capital One, the Historic Jackson Ward Association, The Carver Association, Virginia Commonwealth University, the Corner Bar & Grill, The William Byrd Community House, Friends Association, The Adult Career Development Center, Richmond Public Schools, Carver VCU Partnership, Tom Kojcsicn, Cafe Gutenberg, A Moveable Feast, The Hard Shell Hill Cafe, Kuba Kuba, Sine Irish Pub, and Ice Cream Connections. Very special thanks to Elizabeth McAdam for organizing this huge event. You did an incredible job!
