Many thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday to help clean up the streets and alleys of our very own Historic Jackson Ward. For the first time, we also did something a little different due to the brilliant idea of Liza Steele. Along with picking up trash, residents donned plastic gloves and Goof Off in order to clean graffiti off of signs throughout the neighborhood. Wow! What a difference that makes! Thank you to Liza for the idea, for purchasing the supplies, and for making a special trip to City Hall to get picker-uppers. Thank you to Janet Armstead for donating gardening gloves for those who didn't have their own. Special thanks to Bob Wheatley for his now-famous homemade sausage and bacon biscuits and to Steve who made the coffee. Last, but not least, thank you to Geraldine Mills for donating the small tables so that the refreshments didn't sit on the concrete of the gazebo. Everyone had a good time, and our neighborhood once again looks wonderful. Jackson Ward neighbors are the best!
